5 years later…

Five years used to feel like an eternity…nowadays 5 years can feel like 5 days ago.

5 years ago:

1. I had my beautiful natural breasts.

2. I had my heart broken.

3. I was a “newbie” at another federal agency.

4. I was still trying to decide if I liked living in Virginia.

5. My parents moved full-time to NC.

5 years later:

1. My breasts look great in every dress and I never have to search for the perfect bra.

2. My heart has been healed, many times over.

3. I’m no longer a “newbie”, now I’m an “oldie” at the same agency.

4. It’s now official that I enjoy living in Virginia, but I do get the itch to move every now and again. (Commitment issues are very real around here…)

5. My parents thrive in NC.

Big decisions can shape your life but there are so many other things that impact your life too. Five years ago, a preventative double mastectomy changed my life in so many ways, but in other ways my life barely changed at all.

This is your reminder to “Feel it on the First”!
